6 Keys to Integrity in Market place

Hello~ Guys!


Remember we had a phenomenal guest speaker, Ray Hilbert, whose book "The Janitor" is one of the best sellers here and back in the U.S. I was recording his lecture at that night with my MP3 for those who was not able to listen to a mind-blowing and inspirational message about Chiristian in Business. Here are the summary below all of us had opportunities to have him in our class on March 18th. Hoping it can be helpful for us to think over how we are going to live as young christian business business and how to glorify his name through our works in reality.



[6 Keys to Integrity in Marketplace]

1. Purpose of Christian in Business

- Bring glory to God in the marketplace: Primary purpose

- Matthew 5:16 Good deed before meu will bring glory to your heavenly father.

- Offer Excellence in products and services : Timothy 3:7(Have a good reputation)

2. Professional and Personal Balance

- Maintain a balanced life between work, spiritual and health

- Work where my gifts and talents are: Romans 12 / 1 Corinthians 12

- Commit to only doing work I am good at understand

3. Proper Planning

- The Bible tells us to plan: Isaiah 32:8 / Nehemiah 1~6 / Luke 14:28~29

- Manage my time wisely as a good stewerd

- Allow God time to work - Don't be in a hurry for success


4. Financial matters

- God brings success and prosperity in his time, if that is his will

- The Bible: I must provide for my family(1 Timothy 5:8)

- I'm to be generous with those in need

- God wants me to be obedient - not necessarily wealthy

- Avoid excessive debt : The borrower is always servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7)

- Agree to payment terms up front

- Always pay creditor on time: Proverbs 3:27-28, Jeremiah 22:13, Matthew 10:10

5. Partnerships and Alliances

- Partner only with like-minded Christian belivers: 2 cor. 6:14-15

- Look for fruit of the spirit in their lives: not all christians are godly and to be trusted

- Make sure their skill set is exactly what you need and that its proven

- Make sure they demonstrate Christ like servant leadership(Philippians 3:28)

- Always keep your word : Let your yes be yes (Matthew 5:37)


6. Persons to avoid in business

- False prophet: Test the spirits (1 John 4:1)

- Double minded man : James 1:8

- False mentor - consistent godly behavior

- Liar - God hates it (Prov. 6:16-19), forbids it (Exodus 20:16)
