7. BMW is in Korea





Hello, BS team members,


Guys, do you like BMW car? I like it. I read about BMW's business strategy in Korea.


Here it is.
Bayerische Motoren Werke, famously known as BMW has expanded from an aircraft-engine to automobiles. Germany is prominently known for excellence in automobile equipment and safety such as brake, engine, suspension and horsepower. Of course, this could not have achieved without the continuous effort of global expansion. Its marketing strategy is very detailed and up to date. They have a simple and compelling advertisements that grasp the audiences attention. They have research data, surveys and charts to compare there competitors marketing strategy. Its main lines of model is the 3 series, 5 series, 7 series, Z series , and X series.



There main competitors are Mercedez Benz, Lexus and Audi. In the distribution of Asia, Japan has rated number one for its sales. When it comes to Korea, it has received better managing each year by Kolon motors. The KAIDA in Korea has made a campaign to tell its nation that foreign cars are only killing there domestic cars. However, BMW has continuously made effort in keeping there brand image by sponsoring and helping out with the charity. For example, its survey shows that CEO`s or high profile status people would buy the more expensive series. Since, it knew that people who play golf were mostly living in a luxury life that it set up free tickets sponsored by the BMW to a golf tournament. Furthermore, it also sponsored Cheju Island in the 2nd World Festival for Island Cultures because it knew that Korea had a love for the Island. These examples clearly shows that BMW tries hard for global expansion and its reputation. BMW motor expansion has been a success, however, the story of BMW is just the beginning.
