11. Hulu.com - Threat to I-Tunes?

Do you ever heard of hulu.com? unfamiliar isn't it?

Hulu.com is a new entrance of Internet media. It supports online stream contents just like Youtube or I-tunes. It targets mainly on consumers who want to watch the TV broadcasting contents without any license problem. NBC and FOX, two of the biggest major broascasting companies in the world, have published this kind of internet service on 2007. Also they have made a contract with other large broadcastinf companies such as Sony Pictures, MGM, Warner Brothers, so they could get many good quality contents on their site. NBC decided to delete all the company related contents on the YouTube site and cut off the contract with the I-Tunes. Once their co-partners became a fow in a day.

The best advatage for the hulu.com is that they don't have worry about license problems. What they are doing is just rerun the former broadcasting on the internet, for free. This can be a big hit for many video contents users. Youtube and I-Tunes had made a huge profit out of the traditional broadcating shows being uploaded or serviced to the customers. But as NBC had cut off all the other routines, I think it will make a more huge profit for hulu.com. What they have to improve is making more awareness aomong the former Youtube and I-Tunes users.

And what about I-Tunes? They will definitly lose many customers who are willing to download the video contents. What should they do? Actually there are no definite answers about it, but they could expand to other contents related to music or movie. I-Tunes has lost one of its most powerful contents. I think it is time for them to shift to another direction of their strategy.
