Can you believe it? You have to spend only 199 dollars for a new 3G IPhone!
Finally they did it. Apple, which were trying to get a dominant market share in the personal telecommunication market, announced the fully new technology equipped and cheaper IPhone.
In July 9th on the WWDC in San Francisco, Steve Jobs had made such announcement about their new IPhone, and it brought a quite shock to the market.
IPhone was thought to be very expensive device even to the Apple mania. But this time they lowered the price dramatically and also put on some new features. And the new IPhone supports the SW made from other companies. Using MS Exchange for mail service is a good example. Now by the flexibility Apple could also gather the business related users to IPhone.
Of course, their competitors in the market are very tough. RIM, which produces Blackberry are now the most well known company for handheld devices. Also famous cell phone companies such as Nokia or Samsung are putting more effort to the market.
I think Apple needs more than their reputation and the technology itself to become the leader of handheld device industry. Because it is more targeting on Business persons, they should launch an effective marketing strategy to get customers attention. It will be a nice strategy, too, to let university students to try on the IPhones first, before they jump into the real world.
As you can see everytime Apple makes a big news for the world. I am looking foward to hear another wonderful magic that Apple and Jobs will make.
